Fast, aggressive, atmospheric and heartfelt – Words that sum up the sound, emotive presence and vision of Johannesburg based Lower Hollow. Founded in 2022, Lower Hollow has since released 2 full length albums and completed various tours across South Africa; pushing our unique brand of atmospheric metallic hardcore across genre boundary lines.

Our most recent release “Threnody: Songs of Fortitude”, which arrived mid 2024 via Mongrel Records received favourable reviews globally, with many citing the album as a real triumph over adversities we’d faced only a year prior to its release. The album is an in-depth exploration through anger, rage, hurt, pain, death, loss and being lost. Inexplicable by words alone, we found meaning in music that would convey the full width of who we are today.
